Plant City, FL – Known far and wide as The Winter Strawberry Capital of the World, 🍓 charming city has reached a new milestone in its celebrations! On New Year’s Eve, the heart of downtown Plant City came alive with excitement as a glowing, 6-foot strawberry descended for the first time ever. Finally, I am showcasing my hometown in this blog.😄🍓
This highly anticipated event marked a fresh tradition, bringing together locals and visitors to ring in the New Year with a touch of Plant City’s unique charm. The Strawberry Drop🍓is more than just a spectacle—it’s a symbol of the city’s vibrant community spirit and rich agricultural heritage, setting the stage for many memorable celebrations to come.
It’s about time Plant City had its own New Year’s Eve block party, creating a fantastic opportunity for locals and neighboring communities to come together and celebrate with friends and family. Plant City is thriving, and its growth over the past five years has been incredible to witness! As a Home Health Physical Therapist driving through the city daily, I’ve had a front-row seat to these exciting changes, from new businesses and developments to a vibrant sense of community. It’s a city on the rise, and events like this are just the beginning of what’s to come!

It is located at McCall Park Downtown. I pass by this area everyday but this is actually my first time walking around the park. It was pretty exciting because it was foggy, the park was well lit, Christmas lights and decors all around the park. Also the new statues around the park are pretty

The Strawberry Drop is a free block party event filled with fun and excitement. Parking is available around McCall Park, and with most establishments closed, attendees used those areas for parking, making it easy for me to find a spot without any trouble. The event features food trucks, a VIP package that includes reserved parking, a free kids’ zone, and a lively atmosphere where people strolled around, took pictures, and soaked in the celebration. The evening was made even more enjoyable by the soft, misty fog, which added a magical and cozy touch to the festivities.
Food Trucks & Stalls
The festivities kick off well before the clock strikes midnight, running from 7:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Arrive early to make the most of the experience—stroll through the park, snap some memorable photos, and explore the variety of vendors and food trucks scattered throughout the area. Be sure to check out the newly opened bar, The Propagation, for a unique spot to celebrate. For those looking for an upgraded experience, a VIP Experience Package is available. This NYE Event was perfect because it was foggy, making it more dramatic on photos. We enjoyed walking around the Park before the countdown.

The Strawberry Drop 2025🍓
This is Plant City’s first-ever Strawberry Drop, featuring a stunning 6-foot glowing strawberry. Suspended from a crane, the strawberry’s vibrant red and green lights illuminated the night sky as it descended to mark the start of the New Year. It’s an unforgettable way to celebrate together and kick off 2025 in style!
There’s also a DJ on stage, keeping the energy high with great music to set the perfect vibe for the New Year’s Eve celebration.
